We have been wondering where the Clicks were as we haven't received a shipment since early April. I called Skacel to ask.  What I learned is that addi, though continuing with Click production, has been unable to ship any Clicks because there has been a delay from the company that makes their packaging (the Click cases).  They anticipate shipping in mid-July, so we expect to receive more Clicks shortly thereafter in July.  The good news, such as it is, is that production is continuing and the shipment will be the equivalent of all shipments that would have occurred in the intervening time. We expect this to put us back on track with Click shipments, though it is unclear just how many Clicks we can be sure of getting.

Then, some very good news for 2009: Sometime this year Addi will be producing two things that all of us have been asking for:

• US 5 (3.75mm) tips!!!
• a set of additional cords/connector piece

No dates or other details have been announced, but do keep your eyes on these. As soon as we are given the high sign, we'll begin taking preorders.

TIPS FOR USING:

Here's a bit of advice for discovering and loving the world of interchangeable addi Turbos:

The join addi uses for the Clicks is very similar, but not precisely identical to the prototype joining mechanism we originally saw. We found that, at least for us, there was a bit of a learning curve before our hands caught on to how to use the joins. This is similar to learning to knit, but much, much faster and easier. After playing with about 3 sets, the few problems we had encountered disappeared, and the Clicks became everything we wanted them to be.

Here's what we did that paved the way to Click Bliss:

1. Read the Click insert instructions and take especial note of how the cable insert needs to relate to the tip opening.
2. Grasp the cable insert in your dominant hand at the point where the cable joins the metal insert - in other words, so that you are holding both cable and insert simultaneously. We can't really explain it, but this position seems to allow a much easier hook-up.
3. Gently insert, push and twist - Bob had more trouble than I did because his hands are so much stronger. This is a case where somewhat less is a lot more.
4. Once you have connected the cable to the tip, tug gently on the cable to make sure all is secure before casting on. I was fooled a couple of times while I was still getting a feel for the way the needles worked (this is brand new knitting technology, after all), so I absolutely recommend this last step as a way to avoid knitting sorrow, at least at the beginning.
5. Once accomplished, cast on happily and enjoy the smoothest and best interchangeable knitting ever developed. (That join is a work of art, pure and simple!)
